#B1-02/03, The Heeren, Orchard Road
Wandering around the basement of The Heeren, Hui Yi, Wen Yi and I chanced upon this small eatery tucked at the corner. A product of twin classic elements in “Tang Shui”, Dessert Story serves a wide range of Oriental-style desserts with a special fusion menu that blends the unique taste of traditional desserts with a modern twist.
After much deliberation, we decided on the Mango Pomelo with Sago ($3.80) rather than the black sesame paste. The mango chucks were sweet and juicy but the dessert got overwhelmingly sweet after a few spoonfuls.
All of us agreed that the Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts and Pumpkin ($3.20) tasted so much better. The texture was quite smooth and I liked the thickness of it. This is my favourite chinese dessert at wedding banquets.
Even though the desserts were relatively nice, I still prefer the western ones anytime!
