Honolulu Coffee Shop
G/F.,176-178 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong 2575 1823 I brought my parents here for breakfast after reading many good reviews about the egg tarts served here. My dad ordered the Breakfast A Set (HKD$24/SGD$4.35) which is very value for money. I didn’t try the butter bread but I like the scrambled egg. It’s somewhat like McDonald’s but more firm and tasty. The Shredded Chicken Noodles included in the breakfast set looks quite plain and unappetizing. The noodles are actually instant noodles—which locals apparently love. The Bo Luo Bun (HKD$4/SGD$0.70) is much better than those from Crystal Jade. It’s very huge (more than twice the size of my palm) and the crispy pineapple topping is very fragrant. The star of the meal has to be the egg tart (HKD$5/SGD$0.90). The puff pastry crust is so light and just melts in the mouth. The custard is very soft and smooth. Excellent! The coffee shop itself surprises me. I didn’t expect it to be air-conditioned and so clean. Service was very efficient and no-nonsense. Labels: Hong Kong 9:06 AM ---------- WELCOME!
