How can we celebrate a birthday without a proper birthday cake?
We brought Yoke Yee to Marmalade Pantry for this purpose.
Being a cheesecake lover, I’m not surprised that she chose the Brownie Cheesecake ($8.20++) as her birthday cake. Since I don’t eat cheesecake, I can’t comment much on it.
But for the price, this is quite value for money since the slice of cheesecake is quite big. I tried a little but it was too cheesy for me.
The Sticky Date Toffee Pudding with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream ($12++) is pure goodness. It’s served warm and eating it with the cold ice cream really makes this an “oomph” dessert.
I was pleasantly surprised that the pudding was not as sweet as I though it would be and I could make out the chopped dates. Also, it’s strange that this bistro known for desserts does not have any other ice cream flavors besides vanilla.
